not_empty validation check
  • In the core validation class (system/classes/kohana/validation.php) the check method will "Ignore return values from rules when the field is empty". Basically if the user is not specifically checking for not_empty then ignore empty fields.

    LIne 401 here: https://github.com/kohana/core/blob/3.2/master/classes/kohana/validation.php.

    This works fine if the specified rule is "not_empty". But if the user specifies "Valid::not_empty" as the rule this check will not work. This is misleading since the rule can be specified in both forms: "not_empty" "Valid::not_empty"
